I had been recently hired by a client who wanted to work on his marketing campaign as he is thriving to be a marketing content creator.
By the end of the second coaching session, he told me that he wanted to become a Coach as he had been touched by my work with him and the ability of how a coach can help the client become the best version of themselves by just asking questions which he thinks he can do.
I was not surprised as the majority these days either want to become a Coach, befriend a Coach or hire a Coach!

Why Everyone Want To Be A Coach?
Coaches are constantly perceived by the aura of knowledge and wisdom in terms of being the “know-it-all” creatures who have got every string in their lives tied perfectly.
Hence, everyone strives to become a Life Coach, indeed, the industry is far away from being saturated with potential talents who are capable of shaping the industry. However, it is safe to conclude that a career in Life Coaching is not the path for everyone.
Certainly, the title of the job Life Coach, Career Coach, or any kind of professional coaching, sounds very appealing as well as the perceptions around the industry too. One must admit that it is very flattering to be perceived as a person who has full control over their life and knows what to do and when.
However, there are other challenges that come with the job of being a professional coach, unfortunately, not everyone is built for it.
1. You will always be your Most Important Client:
As a life coach, the most important person that you will ever meet is yourself, therefore, you will have to constantly work on being the best version of yourself.
The launch does not end by earning an ICF (International Coaching Federation) certification or credential. Hence, being a Life Coach means that you have to be willing to grow every single day in terms of personal development to serve your clients with your maximum potential.
One of the biggest challenges is becoming aware of your own flaws. A life coach is a person who is conscious of his own problems and challenges, furthermore, has the awareness and the power to work on them and become the best version of himself at every present moment.
You constantly have to ask yourself, “What is my ideal self?” and to ensure that you get closer every day to the picture that you paint of your ideal self.
2. Become a Coach-preneur!
Most people get surprised when they know that I have my own business, i.e., my life coaching business.
They may be oblivious to the fact that launching a life coaching career, especially in the beginning, includes becoming an entrepreneur as well. It comes with the package! This is what I love about coaching. Clearly, it is an opportunity for you to learn things that you have not tried before and to constantly step out of your comfort zone.
Of course, unless you want to only coach your family and friends then keep reading!
Starting by coaching your family and friends is certainly a great start but it is not where the business would land.
Your goal as a coach is to get to the maximum number of clients to help them become the best version of themselves.
Therefore, you must be willing to invest long hours in studying consumer psychology in the market, personal branding and advertising, financial management, public speaking in terms of social media, research in order to create content, etc.
3. ETHICS ETHICS ETHICS!
Unfortunately, many people still don’t differentiate between Life Coaching and other supporting professions such as consulting, mentoring, therapy, etc. Hence, people will approach you for certain services that you do not provide. Moreover, those approaching do not have the knowledge of what coaching actually is. Furthermore, they are willing to pay for advice, for someone to listen, and for someone to help them with their anxiety or depression. You might ask why would they come to see me instead of a psychiatrist. Simply because they do not want to fall under the stigma of struggling with mental health. Therefore, with a mixture of fearlessness and kindness, you must reject those clients as accepting them will sabotage your business in the very short run. How? Simply because you will not be able to satisfy them as they are asking and paying for a service that you are not qualified for, therefore, if they are not happy, you will not be either.
Remember, the key to success here is believing in the service that you are providing in order to attract the right clients for you who believe in the service as well! Integrity comes above everything in the career as it must be aligned with your values to be in the right performing action. Coaching is a very rewarding career especially when you see your clients succeeding through your service, it becomes the most heart-warming feeling. However, it required a strong psychological barrier, resilience, commitment of another level, and most importantly, PASSION PASSION PASSION. As a result, if it is not from the heart it will not get to the client because it is all about the connection and rapport you establish with the client even through a screen!
